2008: The Year That Was

Here's my annual 2008 mix. I wanted to fit 25 songs on a single CD (for a perfect 5x5 iTunes grid), but came up a song short. Close enough for an imperfect year like 2008. I ended up not including the Coldplay song, but there's still a Jonas Brothers track, as my indie cred sneaks quietly out the door.

The hidden theme of this mix is "light" (as in "lumina" not as in "light rock") since at least six songs have some form of light in the title.

02. Army Navy - Saints

05. Death Cab For Cutie - No Sunlight
06. Even - I Am the Light

How did I miss out on The Lonelyhearts? That song is brilliant. Also, there are plenty of Jonas Brothers songs that people our age would like if they heard them without knowing who the artist was!

Nice mix! Thanks, Hot Rox!

I also meant to mention that until I heard your mix, I had no idea that Firewater put out an album this year!

Why is your mix alphabetized? Anyway, if you like Matthew Sweet, make sure you don't miss the song he did for The Bigtop soundtrack, "Wild."

The mix isn't perfectly alphabetized, there are a few tracks out of sequence, but I always end up sticking things in order for some reason.
